Our wedding takes place entirely in Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan), so naturally, that’s where our accommodation recommendations will focus.
However, this is your holiday too & we want the choice to be your own! There is no official wedding hotel or any requirement to stay anywhere specific, our recommendations are not obligations, stay wherever brings you joy!

Location-wise, if you book in Old San Juan, wherever you are, you’ll be near everything wedding-related so there’s no ‘bad spot’.
Here are some hotels we’ve stayed in before and can vouch for!

El Convento
The grand dame of Old San Juan - this former monestry is one of the best hotels in the city. Rooftop pools, luxurious rooms and wonderful architecture await.

Palacio Provincial
Sister to the El Convento, this offers fabulous rooms & great food in a more modern environment. This will appeal to all those in search of a more modern amenities and comforts. (Hilton Property for you loyal ones)

Gallery Inn
Parrots, pools & artistic energy. This is probably the most unique hotel on the list. It's also one of the best value options. Gallery Inn has BAGS of character and part of your booking cost will go towards supporting local artists - which we think is wonderful

Decanter Hotel
Decanter is a really well located hotel with a great rooftop bar - we stayed there on our most recent visit and were extremely comfortable. Many of the rooms have great useable balcony and whilst it might not have a pool, it's a great option for those seeking to explore the sights.

Fairmont San Juan (Not in OSJ) - Isla Verde
This hotel isn't in Old San Juan - but if beach resorts are your thing (and that's fine!)- this is the best one near OSJ. It looks pretty much exactly like this photo and also contains a casino in case you're feeling lucky... whilst you're not exactly in the wedding town - you're 15-20 minutes out in a cab (warning sometimes traffic triples this). A good option for someone looking for something more boujis.

Alma Hotel
The newest hotel in OSJ - opened in June 2024 - it's so new in fact that we haven't stayed there yet but watched it being built. However, the first reviews are good, the location too. A welcome addition to OSJ. We will stay there next time we visit and update this list!

Rentals
Alquiler
Airbnb & VRBO is very established in OSJ and there’s plenty of choice at plenty of price points. As of October 2024, some properties are yet to launch their March 2025 availability, but these may be available to advance book if you send them a message.
Again, there’s no ‘bad’ location to stay in OSJ, it’s one of the most walkable cities in the world. So don’t stress about specific streets.
